Rapyd Prohibited and Restricted
Products and Services

Rapyd has strict guidelines regarding the businesses, products, and services that we deem to be prohibited or restricted from using Rapyd’s Services or Rapyd Global Payments Network.

The categories of businesses and/or business practices are restricted in using the Rapyd Service or the Rapyd Global Payment Network (“Restricted Businesses”). Restricted Business categories may be imposed through Network Rules or the requirements of our Financial Services Providers and Partners. In some cases, businesses noted below may be eligible for processing but must have explicit prior approval from Rapyd in order to use our platform and network. Businesses that offer illegal products or services are never eligible to use the Rapyd Services. The types of businesses listed below are representative, but not exhaustive. If you are uncertain as to whether your business is a Restricted Business or you have questions about how these requirements apply to you or your business, please contact us.

By creating an account and registering with us, you are confirming that you will not use the Rapyd Service to accept payments or make disbursements (payouts) in connection with the following businesses, business activities, or business practices unless you have received prior written approval from Rapyd.

List of Prohibited Products and Services

Network Participants may not use Rapyd’s Services and Network in relation to any of the following:

  1. Adult entertainment, website or contents such as:
    • Sexually oriented materials such as erotic books, videos or sex toys
    • Adult escorts, prostitution services and massage parlours
    • Male or Female Sexual Enhancement Supplements or Products
    • Digital content such as Videotexting, Child Pornography, paid subscriptions to
    • Live-Streaming, erotic phone conversations
    • Gentleman’s Clubs, Strip Clubs and Topless Bars
    • Talent Agencies
  2. Associated with purchases of annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card
  3. Auto Dealers (Boat, Aircraft)
  4. Bail bonds and bankruptcy lawyers
  5. Buyers Club / Membership clubs
  6. Cable box de-scramblers
  7. Check cashing businesses
  8. Cigar Stores and Stands
  9. Counterfeit items
  10. Credit repair or debt settlement services, credit transactions or insurance activities
  11. Credit protection / Identity theft protection
  12. Cryptocurrencies including cryptocurrency exchanges
  13. Direct Marketing – Travel-Related Arrangement Services
  14. Direct Marketing – Outbound Telemarketing Merchants
  15. Direct Marketing – Continuity / Subscription Merchants
  16. Direct Marketing – Inbound Telemarketing Merchants
  17. Drugs, Drug Proprietors, Drug Stores and Pharmacies
  18. Drug paraphernalia and drug test circumvention aids
  19. Embargoed Goods, Prohibited Countries
  20. Espionage equipment and accessories
  21. File sharing services including Cyber Lockers
  22. Fireworks and hazardous materials
  23. Gold and precious metal dealers (physical)
  24. Gambling transaction, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including casino games, sports betting, horse, dog or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery), sweepstakes and non-sports intrastate internet
  25. Human Growth Hormone Supplies
  26. Human remains and body parts
  27. Illegal Investment schemes
  28. Illegal downloads of movies, music, computer and video games
  29. Items or downloads infringe or violate copyright, trademark
  30. Illegal software – e.g. Malware, Software to break encryption of phones/computers
  31. Internet pharmacies / Internet pharmacy referral site
  32. Illegal sale of financial information (e.g. bank accounts, bank cards)
  33. Involve the sales of products or services identified by government agencies to have a high likelihood of being fraudulent
  34. Mail Order Brides services
  35. Miracle Cures that promises instant or guaranteed outcomes etc
  36. Mugshot and arrest record services
  37. Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) businesses
  38. Payday Loan / Dealers, Tax Anticipation Programs
  39. Poisonous and hazardous materials
  40. Products or services related to religious, political or social campaigning
  41. Products/Services promoting abuse, hatred, racism, religious persecution, terrorism, violence or contain offensive content
  42. Pyramid or Ponzi schemes
  43. Sanction list inclusions (global)
  44. Services associated with pseudo-science (e.g., Astrology, Horoscopes review, Fortune-Telling, etc.)
  45. Shell banks and companies
  46. Signal Jammers/Blockers that interferes with cellular/communication devices
  47. Stolen goods including digital and virtual goods
  48. Surrogacy services
  49. Tattoo Parlours
  50. Telemarketing
  51. Timeshare and Timeshare maintenance
  52. Tobacco / Cigar / Electronic Cigarette / Nicotine content products
  53. Trade of weapons, ammunition, military arms, explosive devices and firearm parts

Products and Services – Restricted and High Risk

Due to their risk nature, certain industries require pre-approval by Rapyd Compliance before they can be onboarded as a Network Participant, which includes potential merchants. Rapyd has the right to revoke or withhold services in its discretion where it finds this to pose a risk to Rapyd’s business and/or reputation:

The listed industries below may be eligible for processing with explicit prior approval from Rapyd:

  1. Airlines
  2. Auctions
  3. Charities
  4. Essay/paper mills (services that sells writing services for students to pass as their own)
  5. E-sports gaming or tournaments where participants receives cash or cash-equivalent prizes
  6. Fantasy sports league where participants receives cash or cash-equivalent prizes
  7. Money Service Businesses such as Travellers’ Cheques, Check Cashing, Currency Dealing etc
  8. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  9. Nutraceuticals and health/food supplements such as:
    – Colon cleansing
    – Muscle-building
    – Anti-aging, extreme weight-loss
    – Sexual stimulant etc
  10. Online Dating Services
  11. Online optical shops that sells spectacles and prescriptive contact lenses
  12. Online Travel Aggregators (OTAs)
  13. Pawnshops
  14. Private medical practice and/or online doctor consultation (E-doctor)
  15. Security Brokers & Investments of any kind, such as purchase of securities, currencies, derivatives, commodities, shares, foreign currencies, options, other financial instruments or gold and precious metals
  16. Selling of likes and followers for social media (Instagram, Youtube, Facebook etc)
  17. Ticketing agencies
