What Is Boleto and How Do I Accept Boleto Payments?
Boleto (also known as Boleto Bancário) is a popular payment method in Brazil, launched in 1993. Boleto translates to ‘ticket’, and is literally a printed or virtual voucher which has a barcode, customer information, and other payment details included on it. Similar to cash transfers, the customer can either pay it physically using cash at a bank or other authorized processor (such as supermarkets or post offices), or pay electronically using their smartphone or banking app.
For cross-border trade, a local processing partner is needed to be able to accept Boleto Bancário. If you’re looking to expand your business into the Brazilian market, check out Rapyd’s All-in-One Payments Solution for Brazil.
