Understanding
ACH Payments
ACH payments are electronic payments that are made directly from consumers’ bank accounts to the payee’s bank account, through the ACH (Automated Clearing House) network. Made automatically once the account holder authorizes payment (usually by signing a form giving their checking account details), these are some examples of ACH payments:
- B2B payments between businesses and their suppliers
- Regular automatic payments to service providers, for example, insurance or energy bills
- Direct deposit of wages from employer
- Moving funds from one bank to another
