Rapyd launches national campaign throughout Iceland, deepening its investment in the country through a significant collaboration with the Icelandic National Handball Team.
As part of the collaboration, Rapyd introduces the Rapyd Goal Assist support fund for young athletes in handball, a first-of-its-kind scholarship program offering grants of 700,000 ISK to 10 outstanding young athletes from the youth national team.
4 NOVEMBER 2023 – Rapyd, a global fintech leader, has announced a strategic partnership with the Icelandic National Handball Team, reinforcing the company’s investment within the country. This partnership embodies Rapyd’s continued commitment to the Icelandic community and marks a significant step in solidifying its presence in the region.
In part of this collaboration, Rapyd is proud to launch the “Rapyd Goal Assist” scholarship. Under this new support fund for young athletes in handball, 10 athletes selected from the men’s and women’s 16U, 18U and 21U teams will each be awarded a 700,000 ISK scholarship grant to further their education and training. Athletes are encouraged to submit applications and essays showcasing their athletic accomplishments, scholastic achievements and significant contributions to their teams and communities. The majority of these promising athletes, aged 16 through 21, are currently in high school or university. The scholarship will help alleviate the financial strain facing many young athletes. Applications are being accepted from November 4 through December 5, 2023.
