As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible to own and scale our local and regional HR operations. You will ensure precise, timely monthly payroll execution alongside external partners and internal teams while maintaining strict regulatory compliance. If you thrive in a high-growth fintech environment, love optimizing processes, and deliver operational excellence with high attention to detail, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Payroll Operations: Partner with external payroll vendors to execute end-to-end monthly payroll. Consolidate monthly novelties, review draft outputs, automate audit checks, and finalize monthly closing reports.
- Financial & Tax Compliance: Align operations with local tax, labor, and social security regulations. Deliver monthly payroll reconciliations for Finance and maintain strict SOX controls and audit trails.
- Employee Life Cycle Management: Lead onboarding/offboarding documentation, manage contracts, track work permits, and monitor local statutory requirements (e.g., SENA regulations, Monetization).
- HR Systems & Data Integrity: Maintain updated employee records across HRIS and digital archives. Track medical leave reimbursements and generate operational payroll reporting.
- Employee Experience: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and admin queries, working with in-country partners to resolve issues quickly.
- Regional Support: Build domain knowledge across LATAM payroll frameworks to serve as an effective operational backup across the region.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR, Business Administration, or a related field, with 1–3 years of hands-on payroll processing and personnel administration experience.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of local labor legislation, social security registration, and end-to-end employee lifecycle documentation.
- Tech & Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite, alongside direct experience managing HRIS platforms and databases.
- SOX & Compliance Focus: Proven experience handling payroll audits and financial control environments.
- Communication Skills: Professional English proficiency (B2 minimum) for cross-border collaboration.
- Mindset: Extreme attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize dynamically in a fast-paced environment.
