A Digital Wallet that Lets Users Pay Via Their Smartphones

Google Pay can be used in person as a NFC (near field communication) contactless payment method, for online transactions and app payments and for sending money peer-to-peer.

To set it up, users need to link their credit/debit card in the app. Once verified, they’re ready to pay online. Payment verification methods vary and include the following:

  • A verification code via email or text
  • A call to the user’s bank or card issuer
  • Signing into the user’s bank or card app to verify
